When can the AM2 test be booked?

  • The AM2 can be booked from September onwards.

Who can book the AM2 test?

  • ETT apprentice - the employer must book the candidates AM2 test.  Apprentices may book their resit test. Individuals who wish to accredit their practical experience may book the test for themselves.  Candidates can also register on the AM2 Preparation Course.

How long will it take and who will receive the AM2 result?

  • The candidate and employer will receive the result within 1 week from the candidate taking the test.  The results will be sent via SMS text and an email message.

What happens if the candidate fails a section(s) of the AM2 test?

  • When ETT receives the results, if a candidate has failed a section(s) the AM2 Co-ordinator will make one attempt to contact them to make a resit date for as soon as possible. (Resits are usually held every Friday)

I have not received my results.  Where can I enquire?

I've received my results and wish to query the marks I’ve been given. How do I go about this?

  • Please email your query to am2@ett-ni.org and you will be contacted you within 24-48 hours. 

I have sat the test prior to the introduction of the new test (April 2010); if I need to resit part of the old AM2 test what should I do?

  • The candidate must undertake all parts of the new AM2 test.  Resits for the ‘old’ test are no longer available.

I have completed AM2, what next?

  • When the AM2 is completed and passed, and all the portfolio and exam work is completed apprentices can now apply for the JIB card. To do this contact JIB.
