Info for employers - Entry criteria

  1. Funding is only available to applicants who are aged between 16-24. This matter is under review with the Department for Employment and Learning. However, it is unlikely that any change will be made to this requirement before the September 2008 recruitment intake.
  2. Successful applicants to the Electrical Apprenticeship are engaged by the Employer on the basis of Employed Status from day one.
  3. The young person must be free from colour blindness and will be required to provide evidence of this from an Optician.
  4. Applicants must have a total of 16 points, derived from GCSE results (Grades A – E), inclusive of two GCSE Grade C qualifications in English and Maths (see LINK for breakdown of entry criteria)
  5. Applicants must also be capable of being able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
