Info for current apprentices - JIB Grading
At the commencement of your apprenticeship training you were registered by ETT with JIB (Joint Industry Board). This is the national body that is responsible for issuing you with a Grading Card upon completion of your NVQ Level 3 qualification.
The process of grading is not automatic - YOU must apply to be graded as an Electrician using a JIB Grading Form. A JIB Grading Form can be obtained from your Employer or, if necessary, directly from the JIB. Many apprentices fail to obtain the Electricians Grading Card by overlooking or ignoring the requirement to complete the JIB Grading form. This often becomes a problem in the future when changes of employer, promotion or career opportunities arise.
We strongly recommend that you complete your Apprenticeship by applying for your JIB Electrician Grading Card. You can find out more about grading by following this link www.jib.org.uk or by calling JIB on 020 8302 0031.
