Photgraphing the evidence

Taking photographic evidence is an important part of completing your e-portfolio for your electrical apprenticeship.

Follow ETT’s top 10 tips for photo evidence success -

  1. Ask permission from the person in charge before taking photo evidence.
  2. The best photo evidence is when you are in the picture.
  3. Photo evidence should support your written claim in the site diaries
  4. Check the resolution on your camera. High res pictures take too long to load, 3 megapixels is large enough.
  5. Photos should be evidence rich and can cover a number of units. For example a good picture would be you installing conduit, while working from access equipment and wearing the appropriate PPE.
  6. Do not show bad practice in the photo, for example do not show the use of damaged or faulty steps. Photos showing bad practice will be rejected.
  7. One photo may be used for several site diaries.
  8. Always provide an appropriate file name for your photographs.
  9. When photographing books, for example H&S Policy, the front cover and index page is acceptable.
  10. Ensure photographs are clear and in focus.
