Photographing the Evidence
by Craig McNeilly on 06 February 2012

Taking photographic evidence is an important part of completing your e-portfolio for your electrical apprenticeship.
Follow ETT’s top 10 tips for photo evidence success -
- Ask permission from the person in charge before taking photo evidence.
- The best photo evidence is when you are in the picture.
- Photo evidence should support your written claim in the site diaries
- Check the resolution on your camera. High res pictures take too long to load, 3 megapixels is large enough.
- Photos should be evidence rich and can cover a number of units. For example a good picture would be you installing conduit, while working from access equipment and wearing the appropriate PPE.
- Do not show bad practice in the photo, for example do not show the use of damaged or faulty steps. Photos showing bad practice will be rejected.
- One photo may be used for several site diaries.
- Always provide an appropriate file name for your photographs.
- When photographing books, for example H&S Policy, the front cover and index page is acceptable.
- Ensure photographs are clear and in focus.
