Please note that this course is run over 2 days over 2 consecutive weeks

About The Course

Course Overview

Remaining up to date with the current requirements of BS7671, means that you are less reliant on the say so of others.  You will be better placed to independently interpret, determine and consult on workplace technical problems.  Out of date qualifications may put you at a disadvantage when dealing with customers or peers on technical matters.

The possibility of designing and installing work to an older set of requirements, may introduce legal and safety concerns.  This could result in the need for the work to be removed or brought up to the current standard. Unaccredited learning and self-taught knowledge picked up on-site or through the internet, risks being applied out of context and may lack recognition due to the absence of a formal up to date qualification.

For some, the learning and assessment process can be perceived as time consuming, costly and perhaps intimidating.  However, the majority of candidates coming forward, do so because they appreciate the need to invest in training and personal development.

Course Delivery

Our 2 day live online course has been designed for those people working within the electrotechnical industry who require working knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671:2018. The course will be delivered over 2 days over 2 consecutive weeks. This 18th Edition course is the equivalent of our 3 day 18th Edition course delivered in the centre.

The course is delivered online and is theory based, providing the underpinning knowledge and understanding of all parts of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulation BS7671:2018. On completion of this course candidates, will be required to sit a 2 hour multiple choice, open book examination on the full content of the regulations.

To complete the training, you will need to have either a PC or laptop with a webcam and be able to download GoToTraining software prior to the course commencing. Step by step guidance on how to access the training will be provided to you.  You can read more about our live online courses and covid safe assessment centre here.  You will need to have a copy of the 18th edition book for the duration of the course and for revision purposes. Please note, we will provide a clean copy of the book for the exam which is undertaken at our City & Guilds Centre.

The course covers key aspects of the 18th Edition wiring regulations to enable you to be able to reference your regulations books as you would in real life when faced with a variety of situations. The course includes the online classes coupled with practice exams at the end, to prepare you for the real exam which is taken in one of our centres.
