AppsNI Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprenticeship
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the tender to deliver the Department for the Economy (DfE) AppsNI Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprenticeship (Framework 342). The programme, which will commence in January 2026 at ETT’s Skills Training and Assessment Centre in Ballymena, reinforces ETT’s commitment to employer-led apprenticeships, workforce upskilling, and industry-aligned training across Northern Ireland.
Employer-Led Provision
ETT’s delivery model has been carefully designed with employers in mind. Apprentices will attend training on a block-release basis, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Training will take place one week per month in years 1 and 2. Arrangements for year 3 and year 4 will be developed with employers to ensure minimal time away from the workplace as we understand that this is when the apprentice becomes most productive for the employer. Our delivery will help ensure that both business and apprentice needs are prioritised.
Why Choose ETT for Apprenticeship Training?
Employers across Northern Ireland continue to choose ETT as their trusted training provider. ETT has built strong partnerships that ensure its vocational and educational training programmes and services are relevant, effective, and aligned with industry needs. ETT’s new Level 3 Apprenticeship programme offers:
- Effective communication
We understand the importance of effective communication. We will provide contact details for each member of our training, assessment and support team. This means employers will have the opportunity for regular contact helping to ensure they are fully informed and kept up to date at all stages of the programme. We will speak with employers on a frequent basis through a variety of methods including direct visits, telephone calls, emails and ezines.
- Timely Attendance and Timekeeping Updates
We will provide employers with timely attendance and timekeeping reports. Effective monitoring, reporting and tracking of attendance and timekeeping will help ensure that all apprentices keep up to date with training and assessment requirements, maximising their opportunity for success.
- Regular Progress and Assessment Reviews
We will actively monitor apprentice progress through structured reviews, ensuring timely interventions and support where needed. We will share progress feedback with employers, providing regular reports measuring progress against the scheme of work and assessment plans. Our workplace reviews will be carried out by qualified electricians who have excellent knowledge and understanding of the electrical installation sector. Copies of review outcomes will be shared with apprentices, employers and parents/guardians.
- Small class approach with effective support systems
We will provide training to small groups which means we can prioritise support, while promoting electrical safety alongside technical competence, ensuring all apprentices are encouraged to achieve accredited qualifications and develop the skills and competencies required for successful careers in the sector.
- Industry-Standard Training Facilities
Delivery will take place at ETT’s dedicated Skills Training and Assessment Centre in Ballymena, which is equipped with bespoke electrical workshops, modern classrooms, and high-quality equipment and facilities.
- Proven Experience & Expertise
ETT brings over 27 years of experience in vocational and educational training, supported by excellent management and information systems that underpin recruitment, retention, and achievement. Apprentices will benefit from tuition, mentoring and support by a team of expert trainers and assessors with current, verifiable industry expertise, ensuring training that reflects real-world practice. By working in partnership with employers, ETT will ensure flexibility in scheduling and programme delivery. This approach will help strengthen recruitment and retention of apprentices but also supports employers in meeting their operational and workforce development needs.
“We are proud to have been awarded this tender and look forward to working with employers across Northern Ireland to deliver a high-quality, employer-led electrical apprenticeship programme. Our focus is on supporting businesses while helping apprentices build the skills, competence, and confidence they need for successful careers in the electrical sector.” Lewis Darragh, ETT Chairman
