ETT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all apprentices/ learners and expects all staff, employers, subcontractors, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment. We aim to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where apprentices are protected from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination, and any other risks to their wellbeing. All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and will be responded to promptly and appropriately in line with ETT’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. Apprentices are encouraged to report any concerns regarding their own welfare or the welfare of others to a member of staff, the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO), or the Deputy DSO.

A copy of the ETT Safeguarding Policy is available to download below.  This policy should be referred to for full details of safeguarding responsibilities, reporting procedures, and available support.

Reporting a Safeguarding Concern

The safety and wellbeing of our apprentices  is our highest priority. If you have a safeguarding concern about an apprentice/learner, member of staff, or any individual connected with ETT, you should report it as soon as possible.

Operation Encompass

ETT is an Operation Encompass organisation. Operation Encompass is a national safeguarding initiative that ensures educational settings are notified when a child or young person has been exposed to a domestic abuse incident. ETT has trained staff, including the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) and Deputy DSO, who understand how to receive, manage, and respond appropriately to information shared through Operation Encompass. This enables ETT to consider any safeguarding or wellbeing needs and provide appropriate support where required. All information received through Operation Encompass is handled sensitively, confidentially, and in accordance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
