This one-day workshop is designed to provide refresher training for those involved carrying out inspection and testing of electrical installations.
It is aimed at those in the electrical industry who have not been actively involved in the area of inspection and testing. It is also suitable for those who may be doing inspection & testing infrequently and wish to ensure that procedures are being followed correctly and in line with current regulations.
Why Attend The Course
This is a highly interactive, hands-on workshop designed to help improve inspection & testing skills.
The workshop will enhance previously gained knowledge and experience in the area of inspection and testing, promoting compliance with BS7671 and the Electricity at Work Regulations.
Candidates will be provided with the opportunity to test a range of circuits, learn electrical testing procedures and complete the necessary certificate reports and test schedules. On completion of the course, candidates will be able to inspect and test with confidence, conducting testing procedures correctly and safely.
Course Outline
- Reference to relevant regulations and codes of practice i.e. Electricity at Work regulations, BS7671, Guidance Note 3 and the On-Site Guide.
- Isolation of circuits/supplies e.g. lighting circuit and main supply to a distribution board
- Inspections e.g. basic protection, notices, special locations etc
- Test procedures and theory
- Verification of results
- Certificate completion i.e. EIC, EICR and MEIWC
Pre-requisites
Candidates should be practising electricians with knowledge of BS7671 2018 electrical regulations and previous experience of conducting inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.
Progression
Candidates may wish to consider other accredited Level 3 qualifications and/or, C&G 2396 Level 4 Award in the Design & Verification of Electrical Installations.

You must provide us with notice of cancellation by email to info@ett-ni.org. Failure to do so will mean your cancellation will not be processed, and any money owed may be lost. If you provide us with notice of cancellation 28 days before the date of the course, we will refund you with 100% of your payment, minus any non-refundable deposit. We will be unable to provide you with a refund where notice of cancellation is received after this period. Where payment has not already been received, you will be invoiced for the amount owed.
We do our best to run all scheduled courses. However, from time to time it may be necessary to cancel or postpone courses due to circumstances beyond our control. If this should happen, we will take all reasonable steps to notify you in good time. We will also refund 100% of your payment.
