MID AND EAST ANTRIM BOROUGH COUNCIL (SWIM TEACHER) FROM 27.01.24 –

Main responsibilities:

·         Teaching people of all ages how to swim, basic swimming strokes and water safety.

·         Planning and implementing teaching strategies, gathering basic documentation to support and reinforce in-person training.

·         Teaching principles of movement in water.

·         Teaching basic aquatic survival and rescue skills.

MID AND EAST ANTRIM BOROUGH COUNCIL (lIFEGUARD) FROM 02.09.22 –

Main responsibilities:

·         Supervising swimming activities at the pool and making sure that safety procedures, guidelines and policies are followed.

·         Inspecting pool equipment, facilities and water to make sure they are usable and safe.

·         Supervising and assisting in cleaning equipment and facilities.

·         Warning of unsafe activities and enforcing water safety policies and pool regulations.

·         Providing first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress and administering CPR or artificial respiration, if necessary.

·         Attend weekly training.

Main responsibilities:

·         Supervising swimmers.

·         Spotting hazards and preventing accidents.

·         Giving advice on water safety.

·         Controlling unruly behavior.

·         Water rescue.

·         Attend any training/staff meetings as required.

PLASTERING AND HOME RENOVATIONS SS PLASTERING & GLENBROOK HOME DEVELOPMENTS

Through working during school holidays, weekends and my free time, I’ve gaining knowledge in home improvement covering all the following aspects- tiling, bathroom renovations, wall paneling, plastering, and joinery as well as full home renovations.

Main responsibilities:

• Mixing plaster and tile adhesive.
• Rubbing up and scratching sand and cement.
• Assist with wooden/laminate flooring.
• Cleaning of tools, packing van putting everything in appropriate places.
• Cleaning of the job after work complete.

·         Observe work being carried out and help when required.

During my time completing the award, I gained essential skills and attributes for my time after leaving school. I completed all four sections through Coronavirus and had to make arrangements due to social distancing and lockdown regulations.

BALLYMENA SWIMMING CLUB

JUNIOR/SENIOR TEAM ballymena leisure centre

I joined the club as a junior and then progressed into the senior squad before leaving lst year. I swam in numerous completions as a solo swimmer and also in group competitions. Within the club, I volunteered through my Duke of Edinburgh Award, helping the younger children with swimming techniques and learning the code of conduct. Since I’ve left the club, I have now achieved my National Lifeguard Qualification and has since gained a qualification to teach schools and private lessons.

·         Confident and articulates well when communicating.

·         Good knowledge of computer packages ie Microsoft package.

·         Polite and empathic towards others own circumstances.

·         Eager to learn new concepts/skills.
